As we approach the end of Semester 1, it is a
lovely time to reflect on the learning that has
taken place in the Prep/1 classroom so far this
year. The benefit of strong routines and structures
is evident as the children display an increasing
confidence and independence. It is wonderful to
listen to conversations as they share their
learning.
The ‘I do’, ‘We do’, ‘You do’ learning strategy now
has a greater focus on the ‘We do’ and ‘You do’ as
the children actively engage in all learning tasks.
In the classroom every day, we continue to build
on our knowledge and skills in reading, writing,
speaking and listening and numeracy. School Wide
Positive Behaviour and Respectful Relationships
lessons have enabled us to becomemore resilient
and to practise our getting along skills. A
particular focus this term has been learning about
the size of our problems and identifying ways to
find a solution. We hope you enjoy our class item
‘What size is your problem?’ at the next Assembly.
Beyond the classroom, we have continued to
participate in specialist classes for LOTE, PE, Art,
Music and Science. Thank you to the Specialist
Teachers who plan programs that the children
really enjoy. Our Year 5/6 Buddies have continued
to guide and support us and show great
leadership, kindness and respect.
A very special ‘shout out’ to the ESO’s who work in
the Prep/1 classroom whose knowledge, support
and care is invaluable and greatly appreciated.
We hope you enjoy the photos we have shared
here that showcase the wonderful learning that is
taking place in Prep/1.
